The successful candidate will possess a diverse range of data-focused skills and experience, both technical and analytical. They will have a strong desire and capability for problem solving, data analysis, analytical thinking, and experimentation, particularly geared toward Cloud environments.
Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing innovative ways to analyze and exploit data holdings, with a particular focus on Cloud
- Supporting the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data for machine learning algorithms, and analyzing and interpreting the results
- Modeling complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques
- Integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating results
- Raising proactive inquiries based on observations and proposed data analysis/exploitation, researching and reporting on a wide variety of inquiries, and developing custom searches
- Leveraging technical skills to solve problems and improve analytic methodologies
Required Experience, Skills, & Technologies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline, OR 10 years of related technical development experience may be substituted for education
- Demonstrated expertise with IT and Cloud technologies, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Demonstrated experience with multiple of the following technologies: Java, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Python, SQL
- Demonstrated effectiveness in collecting information and accurately representing/visualizing it to non-technical third parties
- Demonstrated proficiency with a wide range of data query tools and technologies
- Demonstrated, hands-on technical experience with data visualization techniques and tools
- Strong, Cloud-focused, understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
Desired Experience, Skills & Technologies
- Understanding of predictive modeling concepts and machine learning approaches, including clustering and classification techniques
- Experience developing algorithms and applying statistics concepts/techniques
- Experience with R
